Electrical Installation
Connections
Power Supply
The external voltage supply (+24V DC) must meet the requirements of
IEC 61496-1. In addition, the following requirements have to be
fulfilled:
• A short-term power failure of 20 ms must be bridged by the power
supply.
• The power supply has double insulation between the primary and
the secondary side.
• The power supply is protected against overload.
• The power supply corresponds to the guidelines of the EWG
(industrial environment).
• The power supply corresponds to the Low Voltage Directives.
• The grounded conductor of the power supply device must be
connected to a grounded conductor PE.
• The maximum deviation of the voltage levels is 24V DC +/- 20%.

Start/Restart interlock
Note: Start/restart interlock requires a N.O. momentary push button or
key switch.

Cables/Connectors
The GuardShield Type 2 transmitter connector is a four-pin DC micro
connector offered in cable lengths from 2 to 30 meters. The GuardShield
Type 2 receiver connector is an 8-pin DC micro connector offered in
cable lengths of 2 to 30 meters.
